Press Release IKMT Dispatches Rescue and Relief Team from Kargil to Punjab Flood-Hit Areas Kargil, 08/09/2025: TImam Khomani Memorial Trust (IKMT) Kargil has dispatched a Rescue and Relief Team comprising 25 dedicated members to Punjab to extend timely support to the victims of the recent floods. The team, led by the Vice Chairman of IKMT, includes religious scholars, doctors, paramedics, and trained volunteers who will be working tirelessly in the flood-affected regions to provide immediate humanitarian assistance. Along with the team, relief materials including essential medicines, food supplies, and other necessities have also been sent. The Chairman IKMT together with the Chairman Guardian Council of IKMT formally flagged off the team from Kargil, offering their prayers and best wishes for the safety and success of the mission. Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Sadiq Rajaie Chairman IKMT emphasized that the Trust has always stood by the people in times of need and will continue to uphold its commitment to serve humanity without discrimination. The Rescue and Relief Team will also coordinate with local authorities and relief agencies in Punjab to ensure that the assistance reaches those most in need at the earliest. To further strengthen the relief efforts, IKMT announced that from today onwards, donation collection centers will be set up at various locations in Kargil town to receive cash donations for the flood victims of Punjab. The departure of the team was marked by prayers for the safety and success of the mission, with community members extending their support and solidarity. IKMT has appealed to the public to continue their generous contributions so that sustained relief and rehabilitation measures can be carried out effectively. This noble initiative is a strong reflection of Ladakh’s solidarity with the people of Punjab, reaffirming the message of unity, compassion, and brotherhood beyond regional boundaries.
