Today's road tour takes us along the rugged northern coastline of Anglesey, Wales, traversing the island west to east in a very roundabout way via Amlwch and other communities along the north coast. The A5025 begins at the A5 in Valley before arcing around to Porthaethwy and Llanfairpwllgwyngyll where it ends at the A55 junction. The A5025 has possibly become the longest extension to an existing A-road, with respect to its starting distance. In 1922 when roads were first designated, the A5025 number was given to Dale Street near the Menai Bridge, a distance not even a quarter of a mile as opposed to the present road distance of around 40 miles. The rest of the road was originally designated as the B5113 and B5108. This was quickly changed however and by the 1930s most of the current road was as it is today. The only other change occurred at the completion of the A55 Britannia Bridge, when the A5025 was diverted from Menai Bridge to the A55 Junction 8. Filmed April 2022
