Discover the quietly powerful journey of Dr. Hana Abdul Kareem — a story shaped by turning points, quiet courage, and steadfast faith. Her talk explores a simple yet transformative truth: lasting change begins with the smallest of steps. Between lectures and late-night reflections, Hana found that it’s not grand gestures but small, consistent actions that shape who we become. Through evolving aspirations, stacks of notebooks, and the courage to create amidst uncertainty, she learned that passion grows through gentle effort, not perfect circumstances. From scribbled thoughts that blossomed into published books to rejections that revealed purpose, her story reminds us that transformation doesn’t happen overnight — it grows slowly, with patience and heart. This talk invites us to trust the process, honor the small beginnings, and believe that every quiet effort can ripple into something remarkable. Dr. Hana Abdul Kareem is a dentist-intern at KMCT Dental College, a poet and a published author of three books, including two poetry collections and a debut novel. Recipient of the ICMR Studentship Grant and featured in Gulf Madhyamam, she has also earned accolades in writing, research and public speaking. Through her works, she explores resilience, faith, and healing, inspiring others to find strength in life’s trials. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
