Michael Conway, a 1964 Hanford High School graduate, excelled in swimming and water polo, setting a school record and earning All-American honors at the College of the Sequoias. He later swam for the U.S. Navy's competitive team. In 1976, Conway co-founded Ashwood Homes, which grew into the successful Ashwood family of companies, including project development and framing. As sole owner, he has led the completion of over 15,000 housing units, specializing in affordable developments throughout California, earning numerous state and national awards. He is recognized as one of the state's most prominent developer-builders and has received commendations for community service. Beyond his business success, Conway's legacy is his commitment to service, generously supporting countless community and faith-based organizations, including St. Jude's Children's Hospital and local schools. Notably, he has supported the Kings County Livestock Auction since 2017, purchasing nearly $450,000 worth of animals. He attributes his success to God and a deep-seated belief in the responsibility to give back.
