Barbara Cambria had an outstanding athletic career beginning at Hanford High in 1979, where she was a member of the school’s first softball team, contributing to WYL and Valley Championships in 1980 and 1981, and was the MVP in the 1980 Clovis Easter Tournament. She was later inducted into the HUHS Softball Hall of Fame, as an individual and for two championship teams. Her success continued at Fresno State (1982-1985), where she pitched the university’s first perfect game, played in two Women’ s College World Series and earned multiple All-Conference and All-Region honors and was an Academic All-American. Following College, Cambria had a dedicated career law enforcement, serving Clovis Police Department in various roles: Detective, Field Training Officer, Crisis Negotiator, and Honor Guard, and earning a Medal of Distinction and a Life Saving Medal. She also served with the Hanford Police Department and as a Fresno County Reserve Deputy. Currently she remains active in her community with through the Fresno State Softball Diamond Board, the Fresno Pride Lions Club, and participates in various service activities.
