JoAnn Dotson dedicated 44 years to HJUHSD, serving first as a classified Career Center Technician and then transitioning to serve as a teacher for most of her career. She supported thousands of students, notably establishing the Career Center at Hanford High School's West Campus and leading the Hanford West Partnership Academy for 24 years. Known affectionately as "Momma D," she is celebrated for her unwavering advocacy, firm yet compassionate guidance, and profound commitment to helping students achieve their potential, often overcoming significant challenges. Her faith, tenacity, and "tough love" were instrumental in inspiring countless students to persevere and graduate. Beyond her work with students, JoAnn mentored numerous teachers, setting a high standard for professionalism, integrity, and dedication. Her impactful programs and lifelong devotion to students and staff make her an exemplary candidate for induction into the Hanford Joint Union High School District Hall of Fame, a distinction supported by her recognition as KSEE 24 Educator of the Week, HJUHSD Teacher of the Year, and California Partnership Academies Distinguished Academy.
