To help you speak English with confidence, I will give you 5 powerful and easy-to-implement tips. Let’s get started with the lesson – please take notes. TIP 1. Make Sure You Pause Before You Speak & Control the Pace Most candidates rush their answers in a job interview because they’re nervous. They start speaking quickly, but this just makes them sound like they lack confidence. Instead, take a 2–3 second pause and think about what it is you want to say. Then start speaking calmly. TIP 2. Use Simple, Clear English (Not Complicated Vocabulary) You do NOT need advanced words to impress. In fact, interviewers prefer clear structure and easy-to-understand language. Instead of trying to sound “intelligent”, focus on sounding clear and professional. Clarity beats complexity every time. TIP 3. Always Use a Simple Answer Structure Structure gives you confidence. For example, when answering behavioural interview questions such as, Tell me about a time you worked as part of a team, use the STAR method. STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action and Result. When you use a structure, your brain relaxes because you’re not searching for what to say next. TIP 4. Practice Speaking Out Loud (Not in Your Head) Thinking about your answers is NOT enough. You must do the following 2 things before your interview to speak English confidently and fluently: 1. Write down your answers to the most common questions. These include: • Introduce yourself. • Why do you want this job? • What are your strengths? • What is your biggest weakness? • Tell me about a time you worked as part of a team. • Why should we hire you? And… • Describe yourself in three words. 2. Practice speaking your answers out loud either in front of a friend of relative or in front of a mirror. Speaking out loud trains your mouth and brain to work together under pressure. TIP 5. Is very important and that is to make sure you: Control Your Breathing & Control Your Mind HOW TO CONTROL YOUR MIND: Most people struggle to speak English confidently and fluently during a job interview because nerves and anxiety take over. To control your mind, remember this: A job interview is just a meeting between you and a potential employer to assess whether you are suitable for the role and to check whether you want to work for the company – it is simply a conversation, and there is absolutely nothing to worry about. Plus, if you practice your answers, as I suggested earlier, your confidence will grow significantly. HOW TO CONTROL YOUR BREATHING: If your breathing is shallow, your voice will shake. Just before your interview starts, sit down, close your eyes and breathe in for 4 seconds. Hold for 2. Exhale slowly. Repeat this process three times. This will help to significantly lower nerves and anxiety, and it will help to steady your tone. REMEMBER: A calm voice = confident English. 🚨 ** Want me to write your interview answers for you? ** Get my tailored, done-for-you interview answer service here: 👉 https://passmyinterview.com/ultimate-...
