Well here you go, there's a stepper drive that is much better than that messed up Seagate from yesterday. You'd be surprised to hear that (at least when used with MFM) this Kalok drive is perfectly healthy with no bad sectors. Who said that Kalok drives were unreliable? I really like the sound of high pitched steppers like the one on this drive. This drive is identical to the KL 320 but certified to run with RLL. I don't have a RLL controller so I can't tell if it would take RLL well, but it works perfectly with my MFM controller. (actually that's a lie, I have a RLL controller but it's an 8 bit one whose optimal interleave is 8:1 on my Pentium 2... Don't wanna use that lol) It's so identical that the PCB on this one is actually the one from the KL 320 I used to have that was insanely messed up, as the original PCB from this KL 330 was dead. Once again this showed that keeping dead drives for parts is very much a good idea. Interested by hard drives? Join my discord server! :) / discord
