The Question is " Am I ready for the Manchester Marathon?" I began a 15 week training plan on 1st January 2024 to get me prepared to take on the Manchester Marathon on Sunday 14th April. I have now completed 14 weeks of training with just one week to go to the race. In the past 14 weeks I have ran 907 kilometres which is an average of 64km per week, running on 5 days per week. I did miss 9 days of running between weeks 10 & 11 due to an achilles injury. I have also done swimming as a cross training exercise covering 34km in the pool over the 14 week period together with 6 hours strength & conditioning in the gym. My longest long runs being, 19.5 miles, 17.5 miles, 4 x 15.5 miles, 2 x over the Half Marathon distance. The Runalyze App I use reveals that I have a Marathon Shape of 69 percent and the race predictor gives me a predicted finish time of 3 hours 50 minutes. The Coros app race predictor gives me a finish time of 3.45. If these predicted times are accurate this will give me a Good For Age time qualification for the 2025 London Marathon. So Today I am at Doddington Hall Parkrun, which I have completed 12 previous times before. I last ran here on Christmas Day 2023 recording a time of 23.59, so I am hoping I can dip under that time today. My Course Pb is 21.28 which I achieved in March 2023. How will I run today - Watch the video to find out!
