A short promo for building Electric Pylons dating to 1963 and commissioned by the Central Electricity Generating Board (CEGB). The plot concerns an English pub containing implausible locals concerned at the imminent erection of electricity pylons through "the valley". All that is noteworthy should end here, except that into the pub walks Desmond Llewelyn I think, who played "Q" in a number of James Bonds films, including "From Russia with Love" that same year. Desmond soon has the yokels under his thumb as they come to realise that "the valley" is of no value in the modern world...what with progress and such like. Indeed...they come to realise that they be blessed with such progress. Interestingly, I understand that Desmond Llewelyn received just £30 for his appearance in the Bond movie of that year...so this corporate dalliance probably boosted his funds a bit. I can find no record of this film today on tinterweb, so thought I would post it up. No credits appear in the film at all except for the CEGB. A strange thing. I wonder how much "Convinced Yokel no.1" got for his performance...the attendant face and deferential expression must have been worth at least 17s 'n' 5d in old money.
