April Reish, School Health Aide - Springs Ranch Elementary School

“I really love what I do here,” said April Reish, health aide at Springs Ranch Elementary School. “I support the children and the teachers, and the nurses.” Reish was raised in Downey, California. She earned a nursing assistant certification at Bellingham Tech College in Bellingham, Washington, and child development associate credentials through the Council for Professional Recognition, which works to ensure early childhood educators and caregivers meet developmental, emotional and educational needs. Reish received first responder training in Colorado with Green Mountain Falls Fire Department. She’s also trained in behavior disorders, Autism, physical challenges and sign language. For more than 20 years, Reish has worked in support of teachers and students, as a paraprofessional educator and nursing or health assistant. She joined District 49 in 2007 as a preschool para before transitioning to Springs Ranch Elementary School in 2011 as a health aide. In her spare time, Reish says she likes to hike, garden and take road trips.
