What is labor law?

Labor law or Labour law refers to the vast body of law concerning all aspects of employment, from working conditions, pay, and benefits to trade unions and worker protections, like social insurance and disability protection. The goal of labor laws is to equalize the bargaining power, or influence negotiations between employers and employees. Labor laws grant employees the right to unionize and allows employers and employees to engage in certain activities (such as strikes, picketing, seeking injunctions, lockouts ) so as to have their demands fulfilled. Local labor laws vary depending on the jurisdiction.
