Graphic Art is a method of making simplified illustrations of objects that induce recall, without displaying the object with realistic details. In order to convert a real object to a graphic illustration we distill the form of that object - in this case a flower - and recreate it in the most basic structural lines that give that flower it's identity. We strip off all unnecessary elements like, colour, lines, dots etc. and focus on just the shapes of the petals, the stems, stalks, buds and leaves. This exercise in making graphic flowers teaches us how to simplify any object down to it's essential lines. This way we learn how to start a drawing, make the simple structure, and depending upon your requirement, further embellish it to even realistic details.
