What does autistic social confusion actually feel like? For me, it’s the lifelong feeling of being "missing a page" from the social rulebook everyone else got. In this second video of my late-diagnosis journey, I dive deep into the social challenges that have defined my life. I talk about using bluntness as a mask (and when it backfires), the agony of eye contact, getting stuck on one point in a conversation, and why I've never been able to understand when it's time to leave a party. I also share personal stories from my past, including relationship breakdowns and workplace struggles, all viewed through this new lens of understanding my autism. If you've ever felt out of sync, confused by social hints, or wondered why people find things so easy that you find incredibly difficult, this video is for you. // TIMESTAMPS // 00:00 – Intro 00:25 – Social Confusion 02:50 – Fog of Social Interaction 03:58 - Fixation 06:55 – The Invisible Rulebook 10:27- Physical Anxiety 15:44 – Social Exhaustion 19:05 Affect On Social Mobility 23:23 Concluding Thoughts // MY JOURNEY // This is Video #2 in my series documenting my journey to an autism diagnosis at 40.
