I Took My Vantage GT8 on Track!

It's finally time to do a couple of laps in my Aston Martin Vantage GT8 on a race circuit, so I swung by Knockhill with Aston Martin Edinburgh to give it a go. Conditions weren't exactly ideal and given the nature of the car and it's value to me I had to be reasonably sensible, however that didn't stop that V8 from roaring away and being an epic amount of fun! The GT8 is positioned as a track-inspired version of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, so although it wears an aggressive styling package, it is more about the event and driving experience that it brings. Going to an uncompetitive, private track day is the perfect opportunity to be able to enjoy such a car. In terms of driving in this way, it's hard work and seriously involving but pays rewards when you drive it well making it an awesome overall driving experience. I'm looking forward to the arrival of my AMG GT R and Porsche GT3 which will both be cars I'm more happy to push harder on a race track, but with the Vantage GT8 built in limited numbers to just 150 cars; mine being the only one with it's colour scheme and full documented build history, and the value rising higher and higher, this wasn't something I can afford to get wrong so I had to play it reasonably safely.
