Granada is a beautiful colonial city in Nicaragua, and is one of the most known cities in the country. Located right on the shores of Lake Nicaragua - Granada has so much to offer with its fun, charm, and laid-back atmosphere. We stayed the night at the Selena Granada located across the street from the towns Central Park. It was nice to be so close to the Catherdral and amenities of the town. Granada is home to multiple Spanish colonial landmarks that have survived repeated pirate invasions. The city’s main plaza, Central Park, is dominated by the colorful, neoclassical facade of the Cathedral of Granada, originally dating to 1583. The city of Granada is one of the most important and most visited destinations in Nicaragua. The colonial architecture of its old center , many museums, galleries, hotels, restaurants and bars. The Granada cathedral is probably the most beautiful building in all of Nicaragua (in my opinion). It’s bright, stunning and well worth a visit, especially with its wonderful colonial design and bright yellow/orange and white coloring.
