After watching Sound of Freedom from Angel Studios, I have to say it's a truly impressive and powerful movie—especially given how heartbreaking the real story behind it is. The film moved me deeply and inspired me to write songs shedding light on the crisis of missing, kidnapped, and exploited children—a topic that too often gets brushed under the carpet these days. I didn't write from a father's perspective (like in the movie), but from a mother's: imagining the agony, the endless waiting, the hope mixed with despair of a child not coming home. It took time because I actually wrote three full songs to capture different layers of that pain and resilience. I believe most people want to live in a world where evil doesn't exist, but the harsh truth is that evil walks among us every day, often in plain sight and plain clothes. This shouldn't be a political issue—yet everything seems to turn that way nowadays—and the only ones who truly suffer when it does are the children themselves. It's heartbreaking to see some dismiss the whole subject (or the movie) as mere propaganda just because they disagree with certain views or people involved. In the end, that dismissal only hurts the kids who are still out there, waiting to be found or rescued. I'm not sure if Angel Studios will ever come across these songs, but if you do—please keep shining a light on these tough, important topics. The world needs more voices speaking up for the vulnerable. Thank you for making a film that doesn't look away.
