Advanced Fan Repair | Patch Break in Windings

This is a Portland branded oscillating desk fan, a rather unusual piece to see around here. This fan was given to me to repair. I don't recall the context exactly, but it appears that there was a struggle to remove the screws, which resulted in accidental damage to the windings. One wind of the windings was broken. To repair this, we needed to pull off enough wire from the windings to have a few CM to work with. Then we needed to strip off the insulation from the wire so we have something to make contact to. We then soldered a jumper wire to reconnect the break. This is a very delicate and risky procedure, but it was successful and the fan is now running again.
