Wildfire Partners Cold Springs Fire Success Stories

The Cold Springs Fire started on Saturday, July 9, 2016, two miles northeast of Nederland, Colorado. The fire was started by a campfire that had not been properly extinguished. More than 1,900 residents were evacuated, and 1,000 homes were directly threatened. Full containment of the fire occurred on July 14, 2016. A total of 528 acres had burned on predominantly private lands. No lives were lost, but eight homes worth an estimated $2.43 million were destroyed in the fire.
