Mother of all hikes in VA. 0:00 to 4:30 -- Ascent to false summit 5:00 -- Start of Rock Scrambles 13:51 -- Summit 16:00 -- Descent If you want to do the full loop, its around 9 miles and you better be prepared to climb on steep trail, jump/squeeze/climb on rocks and then walk for 4 miles on pretty flat gravel road. Don't take the word "Rock Scramble" lightly. It could be pretty fun or knee/back breaking depending upon your age :) There are few sections where you have to literally squeeze through the rocks and climb on the steep rocky surface. When you return back to parking (probably around 0.25 miles before the parking lot), Weakley Hollow Fire Road (flat part of the hike) routes you back to Ridge Trail and puts on the steep hike again. This part was pertty brutal as everyone was tired and no one was in the mood to hike on steep trail again. Once it connects to Ridge trail, its downhill towards the parking lot. Talking about parking, there are 2 free lots and a private lot (cost you $20) inbetween the 2 free lots. We were told the lots were full and we paid the lady 20 bucks. when we entered the information center (main/new parking lot), we saw plenty of parking spots available. This hike is on Shenandoah mountains, so it will cost you $30 for the hike (they charge by car)
