But the highlight of my food adventure was having freshly cut goat kidney and livers with just salt as marination, cooked in Iraqi style barbeque early morning after Fajr prayers near Maulana Ali A.S Haram Sharif on a very cold and foggy morning of 5 degrees Celsius. Not only was it a mouth-watering experience, but it was also a spiritual awakening, starting my New Year in such a sacred place.
