STORYLINE: Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv's Hostages Square on Friday expressed hope that the remains of deceased hostages would soon be returned from Gaza. Released hostage Bar Kupershtein attended a prayer service held at his request in the square and said he believes that prayer can help bring about the release of the remaining hostages, just as it did for him. "I am sure it was faith that got me out of there, and I know that our shared faith is what will bring back those who are still there," he told the worshippers. Kupershtein was working at the Nova festival as a security guard when he was abducted. Witnesses said Kupershtein stayed at the festival to try to provide first aid to people who had been shot and injured. Earlier, Israel’s military said that Palestinian militants handed over the remains of two more hostages, in the latest indication that the fragile ceasefire agreement is moving forward despite Israeli strikes on Gaza this week. The two sets of remains were given to the Red Cross in Gaza, then transported into Israel by troops and taken to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine for identification, the Israeli military said. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said late Thursday that the remains had been confirmed as those of Sahar Baruch and Amiram Cooper, both taken hostage during the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas that set off the war.
