Simply put, Power Yoga is an accelerated yoga, specifically a Vinyasa practice. Vinyasa meaning “arranging something in a special way,” the yoga type arranges poses in a continuous flow, rather than focusing on one pose at a time. Power Yoga still stresses the mainstay of yoga, flowing through movements from one pose to the next, but with amplified intensity. The renowned “fitness” or “gym” yoga does not have one specific routine, as its teachers offer their own unique classes to its students. Diverse poses within and between Power Yoga classes surfaces its unpredictability and reduces the risk of burnout and dropout of its supporters. So if you admire a more intense yet lax yoga routine, along with the benefits of Power Yoga, this style may be right for you! Yoga and breathing aids in relieving depression and anxiety. Now, I love backbends! I still find that if I don't practice for a while, I get stiff in my body and remember why I started yoga in the first place. Some days you may not feel very up to it. Moving oxygen into the bloodstream to feel more refreshed, centered, and focused. Yoga Tip: If you struggle with committing to a workout/Yoga practice, try telling yourself, just 5/10 mins and I’m done. It takes a great weight off the ego and clears resistance which allows room for small changes and small changes lead to big growth.
