It is a great sorrow that the original version of Alizarin Crimson - pigment PR83 - is fugitive or not lightfast. This means it will change its hue or fade under normal indoor lighting conditions. This precludes it from being used in a work of art that is sold and or displayed. It can still be used in a sketchbook or if the work will be preserved digitally.
