Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this liftgate lift support arm. And this is a gas strut that's going to replace one liftgate or rear hatch lift support arm. And this will work with the models of Mercury, Ford, AMC, and Plymouth that you see on the screen there. So if you have any of those, this is going to have the nylon ball socket connectors that are going to connect right into or onto your OEM fitting, so give you a nice, solid connection. And this is going to help extend and hold your liftgate open and then it will gently compress while you're closing your liftgate, so you're not gonna have to worry about slamming the fingers in there and that sort of thing. When we have it fully extended, from the center of one ball socket to the center of the other, we're looking at approximately 19 11/16 of an inch. The compressed length, which I won't be able to demonstrate for you is about 11 1/4 of an inch. This does feature dampening technology that's gonna provide a nice, smooth operation, helps to eliminate your bouncing and jumping, and it's going to ensure frictionless movement in all weather conditions. There is a nitride coating on the steel shaft that's gonna allow for corrosion resistance, so it's gonna give you a nice long-lasting performance. And it does come with a limited lifetime warranty.
