1700hp 427ci LSX, 6 speed Magnum F series trans, Canadian Chevelle Classic looks, Modern performance. This Nelson Racing 1700hp Twin Turbo Lsx powered 1966 Chevy Chevelle reins king of the Muscle Car . Its original big block replaced with reliable smooth modern horsepower! One key to success with an automotive build is to start with good raw material, and this Chevelle was a rust-free example when the owner shipped it to us. Once the Chevelle was in the hands of ProtouringTexas.com. Our crew completely disassembled the suspension, interior, and wiring. The body went thru multiple phases of metal transformation, mini tubs, qtr panel replacement, transmission tunnel, and smooth firewall all to represent its excellent condition today. With all other components removed, fabrication began with fitting the massive Tremec Magnum F series manual transmission into the Chevelle's tiny transmission tunnel. No easy task, but well worth the effort. With the LSX/T56 combination fitted, a FastTrack chassis from Roadstershop was added, including adjustable Fox shocks, 35 Spline axle and powder coated black. The race inspried chassis was bolted to the body after a complete undercoating from Duplicolor. This horsepower level requires the ability to slow everything down fast. That's why a set of custom machined Pro+ 6 piston calipers with engraved maple leaf's and 14-inch rotors were used from Baer Brakes. With everything installed we could move to exhaust, Nelson provided the turbo manifolds, so we went to work modifying the mandrel bent stainless steel parts from Stainless Brothers to complete an exhaust worthy of an art show installation, routing the flames and exhaust all the way out the rear of the car. Completing the drivetrain, we used a Wegner Performance accessory drive along with an american autowire chassis wiring harness and Terminator ECU from Holley Performance, all controlling a modern fuel pump module from a stainless vaporworx tank from Rickstanks. The interior of this Chevelle features many subtle custom touches, with original bucket seats and center console. Instrumentation from Dakota Digital fill in the factory dash with modern technology and classic looks. Badass billet wheels from Billet specialties. Sticky NT01 nitto tires, full custom Bluetooth audio, and air conditioning that's upgraded with a Sure-fit Vintage Air system and smooth firewall, makes this car "what dreams are made of".
