This video contains two matches I had with the recently buffed LV2 and 3 Tristan on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 600-700 cost general with fast stun accumulation, small size relative to cost, great melee damage, great walking speed, two dodge rolls, overall great stagger ability and great ballistic damage. Though it suffers from a fair list of weaknesses, such as having very poor HP, low ranged defences, mediocre boosting speed and slow melee animations. This is a suit that has traditionally been considered quite weak ever since it came out 3 years ago, but it recently got a massive list of buffs that really brings it closer to par with the rest of 600 cost. It got 65 thrust at 600-650 cost, 70 thrust at 700 cost, +8 melee modifier at 700 cost, +7 ranged modifier at 700 cost, +10 boosting speed at 700 cost, 3 seconds beam rifle focus time, 2 seconds rifle cooldown time, 0.77 seconds rifle cooldown time, 75% rifle uncharged heat, 85% rifle charged heat, penetration on charged rifle shots, 150% downswing modifier, 2 seconds cooldown time on melee, beam saber scaling per level changed from +135 to +250, gatling gun scaling per level changed from +7 to +25, gatling gun stagger power buffed to 7% along with the replacement of its sturmfaust sub-weapon with a much more powerful version. The first match went really well and is how I would recommend you play the suit. The second match was really just me experimenting with how well Tristan could do playing mostly shooting, but I can't recommend playing like that. I hope that you enjoy watching! The primary weapon of the Tristan is a beam rifle with 2730 (3203) power, 75% (85%) heat, 2 seconds cooldown, 14 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap time, 405m (505m) range, 70% (85%) stagger value and 3 seconds focus time. This beam rifle has both high power and stagger value but does not instant stagger unless it is charged. The high stun value of the uncharged shot means that you can combo it into just 5 gatling shots to stun or stop regular MA. Though after the buff it is fine to just walk around with it charged up to instant stagger enemies. Its primary melee weapon at LV2 is a set of dual beam sabers with 2950 power, 2 seconds cooldown, 0.33 seconds swap time, 150% downswing modifier and 50%x2 sideswing modifier. This weapon suffers from slow melee animations for the neutral and downswing attacks, though it has insanely quick swap time and great power. The side swing is quick and offers just as much damage as a neutral swing, so it is the best way to start combos unless you are confident that you can just stun straight into downswing. It hitting twice also makes restunning enemies before they can roll away much easier. Its first sub weapon is an arm gatling gun with 175 power, 45 ammo, 600 RPM, 11 seconds reload, 0.5 seconds swap time, 200m range, 1500 DPS and 7% stagger value. While this weapon is short ranged, it has great DPS and the ability to stagger regular enemies in just 1.5 seconds. This pairs excellently with your high stagger value beam rifle, but even on its own it is capable of shredding low ballistic resistance raids. Its second sub weapon is a sturmfaust with 2400 power, 1 ammo, 10 seconds reload, 1 second swap time, 200m range and 80% stagger value. Unlike other sturmfausts, this has fast swap time, though it still has a lengthy discard animation. It has high power and pretty quick reload time, you can even consistently combo this into melee if you start with a side swing. Its bulk is pretty awful with just 17500 HP, 17 ballistic/beam defence and 38 melee resistance. Melee resistance is high but its awful HP and ranged defences makes you explode at the slightest breeze. You really cannot afford to get caught out, one mistake can equal death if fighting against aware players. You do have LV2 Emergency Evasion which can help with this though. Your mobility though does help with this though with 135 walking speed, 205 boosting speed, 65 thrust and 78 turning. Your boosting speed is slow, but walking and turning speed are both great. Like the Alex/G3, you have 100% side strafe speed and 95% back strafe speed which makes avoiding shots easy if you position well. It gets LV2 Forced Injectors and LV3 Flight Control for mobility skills. Overall I feel like the Tristan has shifted from being the worst suit at 600 cost to one that is pretty good but hard to play. It has great melee damage, handling, ballistic damage and stagger power, but it cannot afford to make many mistakes because of its low HP. I think that they could have afforded to give it +1500 HP and better boosting speed but I can't really complain considering how much better it has became. I can recommend the Tristan to players who are used to handling nimble but squishy suits such as the Alex or G-3 Gundam. Thanks for watching!
