A full (almost!) tour of The Commune Artist Colony founded by Yousuf Bashir Qureshi in Karachi via FPV drone vlog! We fly in from Miskeen Gali and go around the wood working area, the stone working area, the graffiti art, the art gallery, the music studios (special thanks to Quaid Ahmed there!) and end up in the MOST AWESOME OFFICE IN THE CITY, at the desk of Yousuf Bashir Qureshi. Many thanks to Yousuf Bashir Qureshi for having me over to fly a FPV racing drone through the Commune, this reconnaissance is hopefully the first of many fun flights there, and be sure to check out the video of flying the FPV drone around the MOST AWESOME OFFICE IN THE CITY :D Special behind the scenes stuff will be shared on our FB and Insta so be sure to visit there too! / karachi-kwadz-806596879509489 / karachikwadzfpv The Commune is situated in Sadiq Godown; a colony of old warehouses. The sounds and lights of urban Karachi and the colors and chaos of Miskeen Gali, surround it. Commune Artist Colony founded by Yousuf Bashir Qureshi is a creative gathering space for talented artists, filmmakers, musicians, fashion designers or for any other aspect of visual and performing arts. The agenda is promotion of visual and performing arts and strengthening of the artist community in Karachi and beyond. The Commune Artist Colony is a creative gathering space for artists and entrepreneurs. The agenda is promotion of visual and performing arts and strengthening of the artist community in Karachi and beyond. The Commune Artist Colony provides a healthy and alternative environment for artists to work without boundaries. Whether it is textile, photography, film, music, fashion, fine art, or any other aspect of visual and performing art. The art world offers a marketing strategy to businesses that is unmatched in its importance. The Commune is a unique platform for artistry and the corporate community to meet in a way that will strengthen both of their endeavors. With product placement aside, the Commune has the potential to introduce an entire new audience to their corporate clients, as well as serve as a marketing base for sponsorship. The Commune consists of 21 warehouses, and is currently equipped with; two large well-lit multi-purpose spaces which are ideal for exhibits, performances, corporate launches and events. Warehouse spaces can also be rented out by production houses/filmmakers, and businesses. Artist studios are available for rent as well as space for lectures/seminars by individuals, organizations and corporations. Workshops, exhibits & performances are a regular feature at Commune. We also provide design consultancy, a valuable asset to the corporate world. With the following services available at the premises: Documentation of artwork: photography, catalogues & printing for our clients, the Commune is able to take commercial marketing in Pakistan to a level that will gain international attention. We would hold such events as competitions between young artists to create logo’s for your given company and dedicate an entire ‘sponsorship’ wall that will not only be an attraction within itself at the commune but also create a hype, as well as an interaction between an audience and your product. To put into perspective, the relationship between the cultural community and corporations has been long standing. The Deutsche Bank has been promoting the arts since 1920 with their Villa Romana award and Deutsche Bank award that minister as an integral part of their social investments. HSBC Private Bank has created the HSBC PB Art and Design service, which made significant contributions to the Art Basel Fair this year, as well as in the past with HSBC Amanah Sponsorship of ‘Salam in the City’, a photography exhibition in London, England. The HSBC bank has also been recognized for sponsoring Indian art by winning Hollis Corporate Sponsorship of the Year award in 2010. International corporations have since been sponsoring the world of fine arts, with Pakistan having so much to offer in this realm, why should we not join our efforts to make our mark as well. Commune welcomes the community, and seeks their support and participation. Our goal is to create an atmosphere within Pakistan that will be a landmark for the international art community, and to provide a haven for productivity within Pakistan.
