The Department of Justice (DOJ) recently published a final rule updating the regulations for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). As a result, all web content publicly available from state and local governments will have to meet web accessibility guidelines by April 24, 2026. That includes mapping applications, surveys, and .pdfs! If you manage GIS content for a state or local government, please join us for a webinar with Paul Dudley and Kari Sadley from the State of Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration, Strategic Technology Solutions GIS Services (STS-GIS) team. This webinar focuses on the approach the state GIS community is using to tackle this requirement and pass along resources that are helpful for state government, local government, and contractors. STS-GIS provides GIS support for state agencies, develops web applications, and shares authoritative state geospatial data. Kari and Paul provide support for lidar, imagery, recreation, and other data programs, while Matt Lane leads application development with STS-GIS.
