Angel's Rest on the Columbia River Gorge

Get ready for another beautiful Columbia Gorge hike! Angel's Rest Trail is on the Oregon side, not far from the iconic Multnomah Falls. The trail rises steeply some 1600’ in just over 2 miles to a rocky summit bursting with views: up and down the Columbia River, rail and road traffic far below, and the mountains of Washington State across the way. A special treat on this day was a pair of eagles soaring overhead searching for their next meal. Joining me on the day's hike was our niece, Grace; her friends and soccer teammates, all visiting from Pennsylvania to explore Oregon's wonders; Grace's brother/our nephew, Kevin; and Tater, Kevin's fearless four-legged companion.
