Hosoku 捕捉, from the Koto Ryu Koppojutsu Shoden Gata

The meaning of this technique is to capture your opponent. Rough kids in the playground know the overarching principle of this basic kata. There's nothing fantastic, but something certainly important. It's not a method of countering a punch to the face. Rather, within the container of this koppojutsu form is the training of a quite universal, and fundamental tactic of hand to hand fighting, with or without a grab and punch to the face.
