Rightfully so, even the thread tied to the sharp end of the sword did not snap, leave alone, the sword. Bhai Jaita Ji to whom the Sis (head) of Guru Ji flew into by Guru’s Will at the time of Shaheedi, writes the following: ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਵੈਰ ਨ ਚੀਤ ਹੈ। Satguru Tegh Bahadur Ji has no enmity towards anyone. ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਮਸਰ ਭਲਹਿ ਬੁਰਹਿ ਕਾ ਮੀਤ ਹੈ॥ Satguru Tegh Bahadur Ji treats those evil and virtuous towards Him equally as a friend. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਘਨਘੋਰ ਸੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਪਾਇੰਦਾ। Satguru Tegh Bahadur Ji is a cloud that showers the Gurbani ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਘਨਘੋਰ ਸੁ ਸਬਦ ਵਜਾਇੰਦਾ॥ Satguru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji is a thunder echoing the sound of Shabad ਨਮਹੁੰ ਨਮਹੁੰ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਈ ਜੀਉ। Salutations, Salutations to the True Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji who is the protector of truth (Dharam). ਜਯਤੇ ਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ Jaita says, the Perfect Guru has kept my honour (by giving me the Sewa to carry the Sis to Anandpur Sahib). (Sri Gur Katha - Bhai Jaita Ji) ਅੱਜ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਮਾਘਰ ਸੁਦੀ ੫, ੧੭੩੨ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮੀ (੧੬੭੫ ਈਸਵੀ) ਹੈ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ਼ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ੩੫੦ਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਦੀ ਵਰ੍ਹੇਗੰਢ ਹੈ। ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਦੇ ਤਪ ਰਹੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਚ, ਜਦੋਂ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਾਲਮ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਖਾੜਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਹਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪਹਾੜ ਵਾਂਗ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਰਹੇ— ਉਹ ਸਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ਼ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ, ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਦਾਰਤਾ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ, ਅਕੱਥ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ਨੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬੇਅਦਬੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ— “ਕਿਸ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਤੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਤੇਗ਼ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ (ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਬਹਾਦਰ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ?” ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿਰ ਕੱਟ ਸਕੇ। ਇਹ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਸੱਚ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਇਆ— ਤਿੱਖੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ੳਤੇ ਲਬੇਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਾਗਜ਼ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੱਚੇ ਧਾਗਾ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਟੁੱਟੀਆ। ਤਲਵਾਰ ਤਾਂ ਦੂਰ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ। ਜਲਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਝਟਕਾ ਹੀ ਲੱਗਿਆ। ਭਾਈ ਜੈਤਾ ਜੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਝੋਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੀਸ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆ ਟਿਕਿਆ, ਉਹ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਹਨ: ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਵੈਰ ਨ ਚੀਤ ਹੈ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਮਸਰ ਭਲਹਿ ਬੁਰਹਿ ਕਾ ਮੀਤ ਹੈ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਘਨਘੋਰ ਸੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਪਾਇੰਦਾ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਘਨਘੋਰ ਸੁ ਸਬਦ ਵਜਾਇੰਦਾ॥ ਨਮਹੁੰ ਨਮਹੁੰ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਈ ਜੀਉ॥ ਜਯਤੇ ਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਕਥਾ — ਭਾਈ ਜੈਤਾ ਜੀ) ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥ ਠੀਕਰ ਫੋਰਿ ਦਿਲੀਸ ਸਿਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਿ ਕੀਯਾ ਪਯਾਨ ॥ (ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਰੂਪੀ) ਠੀਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ (ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ) ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਭੰਨ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਲੋਕ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸਥਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ। Breaking the potsherd of his body head of the king of Delhi (Aurangzeb), He left for the abode of the Lord. ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਕਰੀ ਨ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਆਨ ॥ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਵਰਗਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੧੫॥ None could perform such a feat as that of Tegh Bahadur.15. ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਕੇ ਚਲਤ ਭਯੋ ਜਗਤ ਕੋ ਸੋਕ ॥ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਦੇ ਚਲਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਕੌਤੁਕ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਗ ਛਾ ਗਿਆ। The whole world bemoaned the departure of Tegh Bahadur. ਹੈ ਹੈ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਜਗ ਭਯੋ ਜੈ ਜੈ ਜੈ ਸੁਰ ਲੋਕ ॥ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹਾ-ਹਾ-ਕਾਰ ਮਚ ਗਿਆ, ਪਰ ਦੇਵ-ਪੁਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੈ-ਜੈ-ਕਾਰ ਹੋਣ ਲਗ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੬॥ While the world lamented, the gods hailed his arrival in the heavens.
