In this webinar we explore a case study by WSP in Denmark, supporting the Danish utilities company Fors in establishing local soil management facilities to improve sustainable soil management and reuse in construction projects. We discuss the actions performed in the facilities; how the soil should be handled to allow reuse, sampling of the soil for contamination, evaluation of the geotechnical properties as well as how to improve the geotechnical properties. We reveal the percentage of reused material which is expected and discuss the advantages in sustainability and cutting CO2 emissions (that comes with less transport of materials and lower needs for virgin construction materials, such as sand and gravel). Establishing local soil management facilities with the purpose of re-using natural resources, require a variety of permits, which makes this type of project highly dependent on local legislation. The webinar is aimed at those working with construction projects that handle soil, such as utilities companies, private construction companies and authorities, as well as consultants. Presenter: Isak Hjort Dahm, Environmental Advisor, WSP in Denmark
