Two people injured after assault in BevMo parking lot in La Mesa

La Mesa, CA — A man and a woman were injured late Friday night following a violent altercation in a BevMo parking lot, according to La Mesa Police. Officers were called around 10:00 p.m. on January 23, 2026, to the 8410 block of Center Drive after reports of a fight in the parking lot. Police say a male victim told officers he was jumped by three other males during the altercation. A female associated with the victim was also punched in the face, leaving her with visible bruising near her eye. The male victim sustained major facial injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The female’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. No arrests were reported at the scene.
