Trump talking to press as he departs 3. SOUNDBITE (English) Donald Trump, U.S. President: "It's a deal that people jumped at, really fantastic for the USA, gets everything we wanted, including especially real national security and international security. (Reporter: How so? Can you give us some details please?) Well, the deal is going to be put out pretty soon and you will see. It's right now a little bit in progress, but pretty far along. It gets us everything we needed to get. (Reporter: What did (NATO Secretary General) Mark Rutte say that convinced you?) Say it? (Reporter: What did Mark Rutte said?) Well, he's a great leader. I think he's fantastic. The secretary general was representing the other side, which is really us, too, because, you know, very important member of NATO. I've said a lot for NATO. And it's really nice. I mean, it's a deal that everybody's very happy with." 4. UPSOUND (English) Reporter question: "Does it still include the United States having ownership of Greenland like you've said you wanted?" 5. SOUNDBITE (English) Donald Trump, U.S. President: "It's a long term deal. It's the ultimate long-term deal. And I think it puts everybody in a really good position, especially as it pertains to security and minerals and everything else. (Reporter: Have you already spoken to other European leaders?) Yes." 6. UPSOUND (English) Reporter question: "How long would the deal be, Mr President?" 7. SOUNDBITE (English) Donald Trump, U.S. President: "Infinite. There is no time limit, it's forever. It's signed forever. (Reporter: But you haven't signed anything yet, right?) It's a deal that's forever. (Reporter: Will there be an attack?) No, no, no money. I mean, people are...What happens is people are out there and they're working it right now, they're working the details of the deal, but it's what's called an infinite deal, it's forever. There is no time cap." 8. UPSOUND (English) Reporter question: "You talked about being concerned, Mr. President, about Russia trying to come and take over Greenland. If you're worried that Putin would do something like that, why invite him to join your board of peace?" 9. SOUNDBITE (English) Donald Trump, U.S. President: 10. Trump walks away 11. Trump adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner walking through World Economic Forum hallway STORYLINE: As he departed the World Economic Forum for the day, President Donald Trump hailed his newly agreed-upon framework of a deal on Greenland with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte as "a great deal for everybody." Trump told reporters the deal is still "a little bit in progress," but emphasized that everyone would be happy with the agreement, which relates to Greenland and the Arctic. "It's a deal that people jumped at, really fantastic for the USA, gets everything we wanted, including especially real national security and international security," Trump said. Asked how long the deal will last, Trump was clear it's long term. "It's a deal that's forever," he said. "It's what's called an infinite deal." Trump also praised his Board of Peace as "the greatest board ever assembled." "It's going to be great. I think the Board of Peace will be the most prestigious board ever, and it's gonna get a lot of work done that the United Nations should have done," Trump said. =========================================================== Find out more about AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/HowWeWork Twitter: / ap_archive Facebook: / aparchives Instagram: / apnews You can license this story through AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/you...
