Gilson’s 8in Two-Part Replaceable Mesh Sieve are designed for efficient and reliable particle sizing for many gradation applications and come in two frame types: Non-Metallic Polycarbonate or Brass. Two-Part Non-Metallic Polycarbonate Frames are transparent for easy viewing of the sample during testing. The polycarbonate frame has a 1/4in (6.4mm) thick wall and when the two parts of the frame are pressed together the mesh easily tension within the sieve. Assembled polycarbonate frame sieves nest with other Two-Part Replaceable Mesh Polycarbonate Frame Sieves but polycarbonate frames do not nest with standard metallic sieves. (Polycarbonate frames are not autoclavable). The Two-Part Brass Frames are a durable, cost-effective sieve analysis option when compared to standard test sieves. Like polycarbonate frames the Cloth is placed between the two parts of the sieve frame and then pressed together to create a tensioned mesh within the sieve. Whereas Nylon material is highly resistant to abrasion, has high tensile strength, and resists higher pH levels but is susceptible to stretching in the water.
