The Fair: Beautiful, Sustainable, Together - 2024 | #3

The Fair is running, and in it, artists such as Bru Junça, Tiago Pereira, Gustavo Ciríaco, Karen Lacroix and PédeXumbo, together with FAHR 021.3 and Victor Lamberto, are taking part in an approach laboratory to get closer to the Feira de São João. This is the start of the creative process around the Fair, an immersive process, but also one of creative contamination, allowing new relationships and artistic interpretations to be woven. Food, traditional games, tales and popular music are some of the themes the team is working on, in a project that will culminate in the 500th anniversary of the Feira de São João, and will remain afterwards as a legacy for the city and its inhabitants. "The Fair: Beautiful, Sustainable, Together" is part of Évora_27's cultural and artistic programme and takes the Fair as artistic material, bringing it into the present and projecting it into the future, starting from its roots. The work of research and listening began in 2023 and continues this year, involving some of the artists taking part in the project, who will be at Rossio de São Brás to collect memories and stories, always listening, in a permanent relationship with fairgoers and the public, provoking encounters and intersections.
