Been loving watching (and listening to) the evolution of Cat Clyde, who is seemingly going through an renaissance, a metamorphosis, into the best (or at least most recent, for the best is always yet to come) version of herself. I enjoy artists who aren't afraid to push the limit, create without fear, aren't contrived, refuse the box and live as if they have something to give. Cat gives and gives, every live show seems more like an experience than a performance. Writhing and truly delivering on stage, with a band that delivers raw energy behind the powerful front that is Clyde. This song seems to deal bluntly with evolution, with growing and changing, about gaining wisdom, about appreciating the moment, to me. Lovely little poem, lovely little message. She always seems to be enjoying our little corner of the world in Nashville, Tennessee. I caught up with her staying a full month here, at a friend's house out East. I'd been seeing her at the honky tonks, and figured it was time to catch up with some new field recordings, so here is this one, enjoy!
