This randomised placebo-controlled crossover trial shows no benefit of magnetic and copper bracelets in people with osteoarthritis. This collaborative study from the Universities of Durham and York was funded by the Wolds Primary Care Research Network. The study concludes: “Our results indicate that magnetic and copper bracelets are generally ineffective for managing pain, stiffness and physical function in osteoarthritis. Reported therapeutic benefits are most likely attributable to non-specific placebo effects.
