I was going through both a creative block as well as just lack of time to do this due to work and my dogs just exhausting me to no end. I recently heard this song and immediately knew I wanted to edit something to it, and no better way to get over editing block with Wong Kar-wai, but Im running out of his films now, haha. Although this is less critically acclaimed and spoken of, I love WKW's only English feature. The cast is amazing, and everything looks great in neon and sad voiceovers. The song is also quite old, originally written for a Yves Montand film but this version really updates it while retaining the sadness of it. 2025 has been a great year for cinema. I went to multiple film festivals and saw so many films I loved and am going to cherish for years. Sentimental Value truly rocked my world. I wish a great year of cinema and music to everyone.
