Demoralization is a sense of profound hopelessness and loss of motivation or purpose that is often misclassified as depression or apathy. In Parkinson's, demoralization can have a profound impact on quality of life, making additional research to clarify diagnostic criteria and evidence-based treatments a necessity. Learn directly from two experts, Indu Subramanian, MD and Bradley McDaniels, PhD, who co-authored a recent study on demoralization in idiopathic Parkinson's. Join us to discover their findings, as well as their recommendations for discussing demoralization with your doctor. Indu Subramanian, MD is a Movement Disorder Specialist practicing at UCLA Neurological Services and is Director of the Southwest VA Medical Center Parkinson’s Disease Research, Education, and Clinical Centers (PADRECC) in Los Angeles, California. Bradley McDaniels, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Rehabilitation and Health Services department of the College of Health and Public Service at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. ** CONNECT WITH US ** Website: https://www.pmdalliance.org/ Facebook: / pmd.alliance Instagram: / pmdalliance LinkedIn: / parkinson-&-movement-disorder-alliance Get virtual event invites: https://pmdalliance.activehosted.com/f/4 Join an online support group: https://www.pmdalliance.org/resilienc... ** ARE YOU A CARE PARTNER?
