Today I take you to Mixun, one of Chengdu’s most-loved Michelin vegetarian restaurants -- my first (known) Michelin star experiences. I always wanted to try one in Paris, but the price tag was simply prohibitive for a student/entry level employee. This episode is about celebrating the milestones in life and the progress you make: in my case, from being a teenager who didn't know how a fish knife looked like - yet acted all mighty towards the waiter asking for a replacement of the bent knife LOL to a mature woman who can humbly enjoy healthy food. At Mixun, every dish invites you to pause and breathe deeper. The flavors are clean but full, creative without trying too hard. And somewhere between the spicy bites, the tea, and the stillness of the space, I found myself thinking about the life I’m building… and the parts of it I want to protect.
