Dr. Yun-Seng Giang (姜雲生) is a professor of forensic science & toxicology and was the winner of the exceptional (usually unset) Honorable Mentions of both 2012 Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition and 2019 American Protégé International Vocal Competition. The comments from judges include:  Shows all the signs of taking on an artistry that is international in stature. (各種指標顯示，藝術性已達國際水準。)  Capable of intelligent, passionate singing. (演唱兼具理性與感性。)  There appears to be a clear understanding of texts. He researches all of the pieces very well. (充分瞭解歌詞意境；對每首作品都做過深入研究。)  Sings with great expression. There is no question that he appreciates the emotional value of each of the works he offered. (歌聲蘊含豐富感情，但表現恰如其分。)  Knows how to color, light and shade the words beautifully. (知道如何彩繪歌聲，並呈現巧妙的明暗對比。)  There is a great versatility to the voice. Not everyone is capable of singing such a vase array of repertoire, and singing it all with equal quality. He is to be congratulated for the diligence and expert understanding of many styles he has acquired, as this is the result of an enormous amount of work and study. (歌聲運用自如，歌路寬廣。並非每位古典歌手都能展現如此多樣曲目，而且每種曲子都能唱出如此高的品質與獨到的風格：顯然是下過大量工夫才能做到。)  His voice is not conventional in terms of its beauty, which is considered a further mark of distinction. (歌聲具有特殊美感，更顯卓越。)  There tends to be more of a darker quality to the voice, similar to that of a baritone. This is fine, and will, I am sure, serve him well as a means of distinguishing himself as one who has all the facility of a tenor, while still maintaining a darker color in the voice.
