ABANDONED Marley Station Mall! Dead Mall Walkthrough!

Marley Station Mall opened in 1987 as a development of Taubman Centers Inc. The mall originally had two anchor stores (Hecht's and Macy's) along with 130 inline stores. Two additional anchors were added in the nineties, JCPenney in 1994 and Sears in 1996. In 2006 Macy's would take over the former Hecht's space and sell their property to Boscov's. The mall would face financial turbulence in 2008 with the closing of the Boscov's store and an increasing vacancy rate of inline tenants. By 2016 the malls appraisal was more than 88 million dollars less than its total outstanding loan. In 2020 Sears would close its location at the site. The mall would eventually be purchased in 2022 by a New York based group, who planned to aggressively market the mall to new tenants. Only time will tell if these new owners can turn the fledgling mall into a prosperous commercial space. Join me on a tour of the mall.
