Mike’s notes: Before Eric began playing at Woking on New Year's Eve on a regular basis, he used to sit in occasionally with The No Stiletto Shoes Band at a small venue a few miles south of Guildford. The band itself comprised of ex-band members Gary Brooker and Henry Spinetti and future band members Andy F-Low and Dave Bronze plus Frank Mead on sax. They all lived locally and would get together initially for a couple of nights every Xmas plus the occasional Charity gig further afield. The venue itself was a small 200 capacity club called the Chiddingfold Ex-Service Men's Club. It was primarily a cheap drinking place but also it was used by local bands such as Genesis, to rehearse for upcoming tours. I started going every year, as this small village is just over 10 miles from his house in Ewhurst.
