OSG-22 with Dr. Erica Fischer on OpenSees and Fire: Challenges and Future Work Needed

In this video, Dr. Erica Fischer talks about fire causing large plastic deformations in steel-frame buildings. Therefore, OpenSees is primed to be able to simulate the behavior of steel structures in fires. Previous researchers have worked in this arena for many years; however, not in the most recent version of OpenSees. This presentation will provide an overview of the fire behavior of steel structures, provide some resources for those who would like to do this in OpenSees, and present some of the challenges and future work in this area of research.
