The UNdaunted in Ghana project is award-winning! MCIC awarded UNICEF Canada and their partner UNICEF Ghana the 2025 Development Impact Award for this inspiring project. The Development Impact Awards acknowledge and honour projects that align with the action areas of the Feminist International Assistance Policy. UNdaunted in Ghana focused on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. Girls in Ghana continue to face significant barriers to education. The UNdaunted project addresses many of the educational inequities facing girls. These include negative gender norms, early marriage, pregnancy, inadequate washroom facilities and menstrual products, and financial constraints. To celebrate and learn more about their whole-school approach, Samantha Ash (Deputy Director, International Programs, UNICEF Canada) and Rhoda Enchil (Education Office, UNICEF Ghana) joined us. What makes UNdaunted in Ghana successful? How did UNCEF Canada foster community engagement? What were some best practices learned from the program? Listen and share this video! Two other projects received a 2025 Development Impact Award: Empowering, Educating and Employing Women in Ethiopia, Real Humanitarian and Support Street Children & Mothers.
