Real Humanitarian educates unstoppable women in Ethiopia

The Empowering, educating and employing women in Ethiopia project is award-winning! Real Humanitarian and their partner Support Street Children & Mothers (SSCM) were awarded MCIC’s 2025 Development Impact Award for this inspiring project which focused on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. Through SSCM’s vocational training school in Ethiopia, students received comprehensive training alongside counseling, financial and business instruction, life skills and gender equality education. The project sought to expand trade school training, welcoming in more women and women living in poverty. Students graduate with specialized skills, ready for gainful employment. To celebrate and learn, Rachel Austin (Co-Executive Director, Real Humanitarian) and Deborah Northcott (Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director, Real Humanitarian) joined us.
