I am using Prizm pour colors by Colour Arte. Recipe 1) is for general pouring. Acrylic paints are mixed with Vivid Poly Pour( both available from Colour Arte )to both extend and help them flow more easily. In a container begin by adding 25% GAC 800, fill with Vivid poly pour to just more than halfway full. Fill the remainder color. Transfer to a larger container to mix and pour into a bottle from. Add a small amount of Floetrol to thin and help level the drying paint. I recommend an estimated 10% of the total already mixed. A squirt of distilled water to thin if desired. Recently I have begun to ass a squirt of Josonja gloss varnish for shine. Recipe 2 Best for bloom colors)- for Vivid enamel use a conveniently sized container that will allow you to include all your ingredients and have room to stir without spilling. Begin by adding 20-25% GAC 800 from Golden. Fill to just past half full with Vivid enamel. Add color to fill the rest of the way to the top with color. To release any air bubbles in the paint that might result in hard dry bubbles a sharp object such as a skewer is used to remove the bubbles in evidence while the artwork is still wet. Also if there is no house-paint base being used, a torch lightly passed over the surface to pop bubbles is also acceptable. The cell accelerators used here to create a blooming effect are Masters Touch Dioxazine Purple and a combination of Deco art 24 K gold and Golden Iridescent Fluid acrylic added into 2/3 Aussie Floetrol. Usual Cell activators are Amsterdam Black or White mixed into Aussie Floetrol. Estimated 3/4 Aussie Floetrol1/4 paint, alternatively, the mix can also be a half and half mixture depending on your preferences. Other colors can be used as a cell activator. An alternative Cell activation recipe using American Floetrol (same ratios)must include 10 drops of Minwax pre-stain wood conditioner added for every 2 ounces of mixed paint.
