OSCAR®-NOMINATED | THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB — A Girl’s Cry for Help Oscar-nominated filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania has written that cinema “doesn’t report, it remembers. It doesn’t argue, it makes you feel.” That philosophy defines THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB, an Oscar-Nominated work of devastating emotional clarity. Based on the true story of six-year-old Hind Rajab, the film revisits the child’s final hours trapped inside her family’s bullet-riddled car in Gaza. As Hind pleads for help, responders from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society remain on the phone, struggling to keep her calm while desperately attempting to secure safe passage for an ambulance. Built around the real emergency call recording and interwoven with dramatized performances, the film unfolds like a nerve-shredding thriller—immersive, precise, and impossible to forget. Though rigorously researched and rooted in real events, THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB is not a documentary. From a filmmaker nominated for both Best International Feature and Best Documentary, this is narrative cinema designed to make us feel—and to remember. Selected as Tunisia’s official submission for the Academy Award® for Best International Feature and named to the Oscar shortlist, the film opens theatrically in New York and Los Angeles on December 17. In this episode of INSIDE THE ARTHOUSE, we sit down with Kaouther Ben Hania to discuss the ethical weight of dramatizing real trauma, the responsibility of cinematic memory, and the power of film to bear witness when the world moves on. @laemmle @OfficialRaphaelSbarge @kaoutherbenhania @watermelonpicturesco @thepartyfilmsales @clarakhoury1 / @weluvwilla / kaoutherbenhania #TheVoiceOfHindRajab #HindRajab #KaoutherBenHania #OscarShortlist #OscarShortlisted #AcademyAwards #BestInternationalFeature #InternationalFeature #TunisiaCinema #TunisianFilm #Palestine #Gaza #GazaStory #HumanRights #WarAndChildhood #TrueStory #BasedOnTrueEvents #PalestinianRedCrescent #RedCrescent #EmergencyCall #NarrativeCinema #SocialImpactFilm #PoliticalCinema #FestivalFilm #ArthouseFilm #IndieFilm #NewYorkMovies #LAMovies #USRelease #insidethearthouse The Voice of Hind Rajab film, Hind Rajab true story, Kaouther Ben Hania film, Kaouther Ben Hania Oscar nominated director, Oscar shortlisted international feature film, Academy Awards Best International Feature shortlist, Tunisia official Oscar submission film, The Voice of Hind Rajab Oscar shortlist, Gaza true story film, film about Gaza child, Palestinian Red Crescent Society emergency call, emergency call recording film, based on true events narrative cinema, human rights arthouse film, political cinema emotional storytelling, social impact international film, Middle East conflict film drama, arthouse thriller based on real events, childhood in war film, New York Los Angeles theatrical release December 17, indie international film US release, Inside the Arthouse Kaouther Ben Hania interview, Oscar shortlisted foreign language film, cinema that remembers not reports THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB Directed by Kaouther Ben Hania Distributed by WILLA / @weluvwilla #InsideTheArthouse #FilmPodcast #ArthouseCinema #IndependentFilm #IndieFilm #FilmmakerInterview #FilmDiscussion #FilmAnalysis #MovieReview #FilmIndustry #FilmBusiness #FilmDistribution #LaemmleTheatres #GregLaemmle #RaphaelSbarge #NewFilmReleases #arthousefilm Video podcast exploring independent film, arthouse cinema, and the film industry.
